Convert Rich Text to Plain Text in Microsoft Word

Rich Text:  Rich Text Format (RTF) is a file format that allows the exchange of text files between different editors.  This styled text allows for the addition of formatting, such as font sizes and colors, bolding, italics, etc...

Plain Text:  Plain text contains no formatting, only line breaks and spacing.  Therefore no text formatting (such as font sizes and colors, bolding or italics) can be used.

Changing from RTF to Plain text can sometimes solve formatting issues when posting on a Forum such as the Blackboard Discussion Boards.

To change Rich Text to Plain Text in Microsoft Word 2013 just highlight the block and press Ctrl+Space Bar.
